Zhang Yu

Zhang Yu is a Senior Associate with Novo Tellus, with a background in industry operations, entrepreneurship, and strategic consulting. Prior to Novo Tellus, he worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Singapore, where he advised clients on strategy transformation, post-merger integration and venture building, across the technology, semiconductor, energy and consumer sectors.

Earlier in his career, Zhang Yu had operating roles at Schlumberger in research & development, where he helped lead the development and commercialisation of a cutting-edge RF sensor and measurement device. He also worked in supply chain management at Schlumberger, where he managed an annual spend of US$100mn.

During the 2020-2021 COVID-19 pandemic, he co-founded an e-commerce start-up platform delivering on-demand products to customers in the US, UK, and Australia.

Zhang Yu holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from French Grande École Mines Paris - PSL, and both Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Engineering from the National University of Singapore.
